What is the Digital Lab for Inclusion?
The Digital Lab for Inclusion serves as a field of research and experimentation for schools and universities. Innovative digital methods and tools that support inclusive and differentiated teaching are tested and researched.
The lab enables the practical testing of assistive technologies such as 3D printers, threshold printers, adaptive learning systems and communication aids. A special focus is placed on digital accessibility.
Teachers, students and researchers are given the opportunity to develop, test and refine inclusive teaching concepts.
Central offers of the Digital Lab for Inclusion:
- Development and research into inclusive digital teaching concepts
- Use and evaluation of assistive technologies
- Participatory research and development together with students
- Training and further education for teachers
- Counselling for inclusive digital school development
- Cooperation with schools and social services (e.g. atempo, ChanceB, Lebensgroß)
Another element that is currently being developed is the virtual laboratory. This offers
- Information on the use of digital devices in inclusive teaching
- A collection of open educational resources (OER) and handouts for accessible digital learning materials
- Opportunities to exchange good practices, use cases, questions and experiences
The Digital Lab for Inclusion opens up new perspectives for research-led inclusive school and lesson development and contributes to the digital transformation of the education system.
