CERI supports initiatives to promote inclusion and has drawn up a statement in collaboration with FZIB: We understand from recent media reports that new special schools are to be built in Austria. Many organisations and individuals campaigning for the rights of people with disabilities have already criticised this plan, including the Monitoring Committee, Lebenshilfe Austria, the Austrian Disability Council and the Ombudsman for People with Disabilities. The Research Centre for Inclusive Education (FZIB) and CERI endorse this criticism in this statement (in german). CERI has also endorsed the statement by PPH Augustinum on school support (in german).
