From 5 to 7 October 2026, the first Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) of the Erasmus+ project DigIDe PRO – Digital Tools for Intellectual Disability and Dementia: Professionalisation, Resilience, Outstanding Care took place in Wolvega, the Netherlands. Hosted by the Dutch project partner Alliade, the event brought together care professionals and project partners from Austria, Croatia, Greece, Italy and the Netherlands to exchange knowledge and practical experiences in supporting people with intellectual disabilities and dementia.
The varied programme combined expert presentations, interactive workshops and visits to care facilities. Participants explored topics including person-centred dementia care, Dementia Care Mapping, and how to recognise and better understand changes in people with intellectual disabilities that may indicate the onset of dementia. Another key focus was the collaborative development and testing of materials and tools to be created as part of the DigIDe PRO project.
About DigIDe PRO: The Erasmus+ project DigIDe PRO runs from October 2025 to October 2028. The aim is to strengthen the skills of carers and to improve the support provided to people with intellectual disabilities and dementia through digital tools and practice-oriented training programmes.
